About Victoria Tudor & Katmai Stories
About
Victoria Tudor is a mother of two, a lifelong nature enthusiast, and a passionate storyteller with a deep love for North America’s wild landscapes especially the breathtaking beauty of Alaska and Canada. Ever since she was a little girl, Victoria dreamed of exploring the natural world, and today she brings that dream to life through her writing.

Her frequent travels to the Canadian Rockies: Banff, Lake Louise, and Waterton along with her adventures in Alaska, have inspired her stories and deepened her appreciation for wildlife. One of her favorite places is Katmai National Park, where she follows the famous Brooks Falls bears and draws inspiration from their unique personalities and rugged habitat.

Victoria is the author of several beloved children’s books, including:
-
Little Grazer, Big Dreams: An Alaskan Bear Story
-
Adventures of Jolly the Alaskan Bear Cub
-
Icefields and Flames: Brave Grizzlies of Jasper
-
The Little Grizzly Who Walked Like a Boss

MY JOURNEY
A few years ago, I began writing a children’s book inspired by Jolly, the daughter of the well-known Katmai bear Holly, and her unforgettable encounter with a porcupine. Jolly’s playful spirit and curiosity captured my imagination and my children’s too. They loved imagining what she might be thinking as she explored the Alaskan wilderness, and that joy became the heart of Adventures of Jolly the Alaskan Bear Cub.

Along the way, I also began writing about another unforgettable bear: Boss, the legendary grizzly of Banff National Park. But before he became the biggest and boldest bear in the Rockies, he was just a cub: curious, determined, and already showing signs of the fearless leader he’d grow up to be.
His remarkable journey inspired The Little Grizzly Who Walked Like a Boss, a story about confidence, resilience and believing in yourself.

As Katmai Stories continued to grow, I found inspiration in other real bears, including Grazer (128), Katmai's famous Fat Bear Week champion, and Bear 222 of Jasper National Park. Today, my books blend storytelling with real wildlife, helping children connect with nature, conservation and some of North America's most beloved bears.

The Real Bears Behind My Stories
Many of my books are inspired by real bears that have captured the hearts of wildlife enthusiasts around the world.
From Grazer (128), Katmai National Park's famous Fat Bear Week champion, and Jolly (335), a curious young bear cub, to Banff's legendary Boss Bear 122 and Jasper's Bear 222, these remarkable animals inspire stories that help children connect with wildlife, conservation and the natural world.

KATMAI STORIES PROJECT
Katmai Stories blends storytelling, wildlife education and real-world inspiration to help children connect with nature in meaningful ways. Inspired by real bears from Alaska, Banff and Jasper National Parks, each book combines engaging adventures with themes of courage, resilience, friendship and conservation.
Through stories featuring bears like Grazer (128), Jolly (335), Boss Bear 122 and Bear 222, young readers discover the beauty of North America's wild places while learning about the importance of protecting wildlife and their habitats.
Beyond the books, Katmai Stories provides free printables, lesson plans and educational resources for families, teachers, librarians, homeschool educators, ESL learners and French immersion classrooms. The goal is simple: to inspire curiosity, encourage outdoor exploration and help children develop a lifelong appreciation for nature.

Supporting Teachers & Homeschool Families
Many of my books are used by teachers, librarians and homeschool families to help children connect with wildlife, conservation and the natural world. To extend learning beyond the story, I create free printables, lesson plans and educational resources inspired by the real bears, national parks and landscapes featured in Katmai Stories.
Whether children are learning about Alaska's famous brown bears, the Canadian Rockies, national parks or environmental stewardship, my goal is to provide engaging resources that support reading, science, geography and social-emotional learning.
Katmai Stories resources are designed for:
-
Classroom teachers
-
Homeschool educators
-
School and public librarians
-
ESL and ELL learners
-

I believe every child should have the opportunity to explore the wonders of the natural world through stories. That's why I offer free educational materials and complimentary digital review copies for qualified educators who would like to use Katmai Stories in their classrooms or learning programs.
